On April 10 a special edition for women

The Adamello Ski Raid on Saturday 10 April will be a special edition for the female universe. And what day, if not the International Women's Day, to communicate it? In a difficult year, in which the organizers of the Adamello Ski Team have nevertheless decided to propose the classic ski mountaineering event in pairs, thanks also to the experience gained in the field of health protocols on the occasion of the World Cup organized in December 2020, and with a revised route following the closure of the mountain huts on the Adamello and the Pian di Neve glacier, there will be no lack of particular attention to the pink universe, which has given so much satisfaction to the recent World Championships in Andorra.
Just in recent weeks, the race director Guido Salvetti and the course director Mario Sterli have defined the women's track, which will have a development of 28 km and an uphill climb of 2,700 meters with a dedicated start. While the men's challenge will start from Ponte di Legno, the women's category will see its start set up in Passo del Tonale.

The Adamello Ski Raid on April 10 will be a whole new path, for organizational reasons, but it will in any case be an extreme competition, as is in the DNA of this event, which in a few editions has earned the international interest, entering the prestigious “La Grande Course” circuit as a fixed stop.
«For our organizing committee - underlines the patron Alessandro Mottinelli - it is certainly a great commitment, but we have accepted many challenges and we have decided not to back down even on this occasion. The path that we will define in detail in a few days is completely different than in the past, but it will respect our philosophy. The men's race will have a development of 34 km and a positive difference in height of 3,400 meters and the two gems of this edition are undoubtedly the two unprecedented and spectacular descents of the Passo del Diavolo and Pisganino, the latter consisting of 2,000 meters overlooking Wooden bridge. There are all the conditions for an edition to be framed, health emergency permitting. The race will not be valid for the Grande Course, but will award precious points to the finishers who dream of the great classics ».
The desire for ski mountaineering is felt despite everything and the testimony comes from the registered teams, which one month after the start are as many as 110 (220 members), excluding the big names of the various nations, who will soon confirm their presence. Bibs limited to 160 pairs, with registration deadline set for 29 March.
In the last edition held in 2017 for women, the couple formed by Jennifer Fiechter and Axelle Mollaret prevailed, ahead of Laetitia Roux and Claudia Galicia Cortina and Katia Tomatis and Alba de Silvestro, Corinna Ghirardi and Bianca Balzarini, then Dimitra Theocharis and Elena Nicolini .
