Eydallin and Lenzi give an encore at the Adamello Ski Raid

The racecourse changes as the athletes, but the Adamello Ski Raid bosses are still the world champions Damiano Lenzi and Matteo Eydallin. The amazing pair repeated the 2015 success and reaffirmed its dominance in the stage of La Grande Course and the Cup of the Dolomites. It is a victory conquered without much difficulty, the experience of the two athletes of the Italian Army made the difference, together with their physical condition. They have been good at managing their energy especially at the start, when the pace set by Boffelli and Lanfranchi seemed difficult to sustain for the others.

Lenzi and Eydallin best interpreted the 43km racecourse, with 4,000 meters vertical drop, traced by an organizing committee that had to adapt the race, until the last day, to the weather conditions, canceling the passage of Cima Adamello and the descent of the Pisgana just the night before. This did not deter the 700 competitors to face an exciting race, which started at 6 from Tonalina for the males and at 6.30 from Passo Paradiso for the women. Also in the women's category, the French world champion Axelle Mollaret triumphed together with the Swiss Jennifer Fiechter.

The men's podium was completed by the Swiss duo of Werner Marti and Martin Anthamatten, who controlled the entire race smoothly grabbing the second place, while behind them the brawl raged to climb the last step of the podium. A challenge finally won by Michele Boscacci and Nadir Maguet (Army Sports Center), followed by Filippo Beccari paired with the Norwegian Lars Skjervheim and the duo William Boffelli - Pietro Lanfranchi.

In the women's category, the French – Spanish Laetitia Roux and Claudia Galicia Cortina got the second place, while Katia Tomatis (Cuneo) and Alba de Silvestro (Belluno) grabbed the third step of the podium, first among the Italian.

The next edition of Adamello Ski Raid is set for 2019. This edition, will be remembered not only for the high level of the competitors, but also for the enthusiasm of the two thousand spectators who cheered the passage of competitors at Passo Presena.
